【Important】Typhoon Sinlaku Advisory for Visitors to Guam (Updated April 12, 2026)
To all travelers planning to visit Guam and those currently on island,
Due to the approach of Typhoon Sinlaku, Guam is currently under an elevated state of preparedness. Please review the latest information below and prioritize your safety at all times.
■ Current Status
- Guam has entered COR 2 (Condition of Readiness 2) as of 5:00 PM on April 12
- Non-essential movement is discouraged
- Emergency shelters opened at 6:00 PM today
At this time:
- A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect
→ Tropical storm conditions are expected within 24 hours - A Typhoon Watch remains in effect
→ Typhoon conditions are still possible
■ Storm Track & Expected Impact
Typhoon Sinlaku has shifted slightly north toward Rota, however:
👉 Guam remains within the impact zone
Expected Conditions:
- Monday (April 13):
- Increasing winds and heavy rain
- Tropical storm conditions developing by evening
- Tuesday (April 14):
- Potential typhoon-force winds and heavy rain
- Peak impact period
- Through Wednesday (April 15):
- Prolonged strong winds, rain, and rough seas
■ Flights & Transportation
Flight disruptions have begun.
- United Airlines has started canceling flights from the afternoon of April 13 through April 14
- Other airlines may also experience delays or cancellations

- Check your email and airline website for updates
- Follow airline instructions for rebooking or changes
Public transportation services may also be reduced or suspended.
■ Tours & Activities
- Some tours and attractions have already been cancelled or suspended
- Additional changes or cancellations may occur depending on weather conditions
- Guests with reservations will be contacted by their providers
■ Important Safety Reminders for Visitors
● Stay Safe
- Avoid unnecessary travel
- Remain indoors during strong winds and heavy rain
● Ocean & Beach Safety
- Do NOT enter the ocean or approach beaches
- Dangerous surf and rip currents are expected
● Be Prepared
- Prepare drinking water and food for several days
- Charge mobile devices and backup batteries
- Keep passports and important documents in waterproof protection
■ Emergency Shelters
Emergency shelters are available if needed.
If you plan to evacuate, please bring:
- Food and water
- Identification (passport)
- Medication and personal essentials
